Erick Wilson
Erick has served as Chief Financial Officer of Retail Planning Corporation (RPC) since June 2025. He oversees all financial operations, including financial reporting and accounting, FP&A, cash management and treasury, tax compliance, and internal controls. Prior to joining RPC, Erick was Head of Finance at for an Atlanta-based real estate property/asset management and leasing company where he supervised and led accounting and investor/lender reporting for a large portfolio of properties owned by multiple owners/investors, including institutional private equity funds. While there, Erick played a key role in automating financial reporting, forecasting, and key performance indicator tracking—enhancing visibility, cost control, and alignment with investor/lender reporting expectations.
Before that, Erick worked in Big 4 Accounting (Ernst & Young, LLP), where he advised and audited publicly traded REITs, private equity real estate funds, and institutional sponsors on IPO readiness, M&A, complex GAAP accounting matters, SEC reporting, and SOX 404 compliance. He has deep technical expertise in U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations, with hands-on experience supporting complex real estate transactions across various asset classes. His client portfolio included firms such as Morgan Stanley, Greystar, Piedmont Office Realty Trust, Atrium Hospitality, Front Yard Residential Corporation, and Mid-America Apartment Communities. Before his time at EY, Erick was Corporate Controller for a publicly traded company. He also served as Chief Compliance Officer and Controller for a private equity firm with over $2 billion in assets across real estate and other industries, including manufacturing, professional services, and technology. Erick began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. Erick is an active contributor to the accounting and real estate communities. From 2021 to 2022, he was a valued member of the NCREIF Lease Task Force, which developed interpretive guidance for FASB ASC 842 lease adoption for private equity real estate funds. He previously served on the Board of Directors for the Atlanta Chapter of the Georgia Society of CPAs from 2014 to 2018. Erick graduated with honors from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance. He is a licensed CPA in Georgia and a member of the AICPA.
